Merchant Operations Manager

Bagong Ilog, Pasig City Full-time
Core Function:
• Work with owners on how to establish traditional alternative merchant services
• The individual must be able to achieve revenue goals by deepening existing relationships in assigned portfolio of merchants
• Acquire new business by utilizing effective sales and accounts management techniques, leveraging on VeritasPay’s solutions and infrastructure.
• The individual is also responsible for securing marketing partnerships with targeted merchants to grow and enhance services at these partners.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or related course
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience in financial industry or e-commerce business
• Proficient in English both written and verbal communication

Skills:
• Working knowledge of Merchant Acquiring and Credit Card business
• Basic knowledge of Fraud Management and Risk Assessment of Merchants (preferred)
• Good sales acumen and proven track record of accounts and business growth
• Good relationship management skills
• Basic technical skills and e-commerce operations functionalities
• Knowledge of using bank cards systems
• Good analytical skills and financial acumen including the ability to read and understand financial statements
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to sustain effective relations internally and externally at all levels of a large organization
• Leadership skills and excellent team player
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong business writing skills

Responsibilities:
• Set-up Merchant Acquiring Department
• New merchant acquisitions and developing merchant relationships
• Assist in creating policies and procedures, merchant agreement and related documentation
• Identify opportunities that best utilize VeritasPay infrastructure to meet merchants’ requirements and managing the accounts of existing merchants
• Responsible for portfolio growth through a series of aggressive merchant acquisition, sales and relationship management activities including reviewing and analyzing reports for monitoring of sales performance and profitability
• Prospecting new accounts and manages a portfolio of accounts primarily covering the spectrum of companies operating in different regions
• Entertain new/potential merchant enquiries, setting up of new merchants’ applications and acquiring of new merchants; communicate proactively with the merchant on business issues and opportunities
• Involved in the implementation of strategic plans for new program requirements and design solutions for acquiring, growing and retaining business
• Drive root cause analysis/corrective action process to ensure account team is improving service levels by analyzing corrective actions
• Problems resolution, including escalation of issues to the correct department
• Ensure appropriate merchant metrics are generated, data is accurate and reporting deadlines are met on a timely basis
• Monitor chargeback and fraud volumes of merchant accounts and ensure follow-up programs are implemented in response to red flags of high risk merchants
• Identifies inactive accounts for culling
• Managing merchant acquiring team
• Others may be assigned
